The Prince George’s County Community Conferencing Program (PGCCCP) is a non-profit program, providing restorative justice and restorative practices to the residents of Prince George’s County since 2013. Restorative Response Baltimore (RRB), a non-profit with the 501 (c)(3) status is the program’s fiscal sponsor. This project is supported by grants from Life Comes From It and the Maryland Judiciary’s Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO).
RRB is a conflict resolution and community building organization using restorative methods that enable people to collectively and effectively prevent and resolve conflicts ranging from bullying to auto-theft to assault. The organization strives to assist communities in working together to resolve conflicts by building connections and strengthening communication. RRB offers training in various restorative practice methodologies to schools, youth programs, workplaces, and communities. Services offered by RRB directly address school-based incidents of conflict to build relationships among students and staff and to stem suspension and school-based arrest. RRB’s programs serve as diversion redirecting young people from the juvenile justice system. These programs also field referrals from community members and organizations.
RRB’s mission is to provide the space and the process for people to transform their conflicts into cooperation, and by doing so, contribute to a vision of justice rooted in equity, community, and collaboration. The organization advocates for and implements practices that foster and strengthen relationships, aiming to cement community-centered justice as a norm in responding to community conflict and disconnection. RRB envisions a world where strong relationships, authentic communication, and the desire to understand one another thrives. RRB trusts that solutions reside within our individual communities and believes that every voice must be heard.
